Gold Sovereign Victoria – Old Head

The Sovereign has been struck, on and off, since 1817, and Pistrucci's St George has ridden across the reverse for most of that time. Seven and a third grams of fine gold in twenty-two carat. The Old Head, or Veiled Head, is Thomas Brock's portrait of Victoria used from 1893 until her death in 1901 — the last of the three portraits to appear on her Sovereigns.
