Struck since 1817, and still the coin most British collectors start and finish with. Seven and a third grams of fine gold in twenty-two carat, small enough to close your hand around, and recognised at any dealer's counter in the world.

Half, full, double and quintuple, from Victoria's reign through to the current year. The Victorian, Edwardian and George V listings are historical issues supplied by reign or portrait type rather than by individual date — the date and mintmark will vary. Current-year and mixed-date listings are modern bullion Sovereigns.

All are UK legal tender, so all are free of Capital Gains Tax for UK residents as well as free of VAT.
