Gold Sovereign Victoria – Jubilee Head

The Sovereign has been struck, on and off, since 1817, and Pistrucci's St George has ridden across the reverse for most of that time. Seven and a third grams of fine gold in twenty-two carat. The Jubilee Head is Joseph Boehm's portrait of Victoria, introduced for the Golden Jubilee of 1887 and used until 1893 — a short-lived design, and a widely disliked one at the time.
